We invite you to join us on a leisurely stroll through the stunning "Garden District" of New Orleans including a stop outside the gates of the famous Lafayette No 1 Cemetery. On this 5 star rated walking tour, your Master Storyteller will share the vibrant history, culture and architecture of this charming and elegant neighborhood.
New Orleans Garden district is home to Anne Rices Mayfair Witches, Benjamin Button and home to the "Coven" in American Horror Story as well as many mysterious and loved fictional characters. See the homes of authors, poets, movie stars, artists, and sports legends such as Anne Rice, Sandra Bullock, John Goodman and Archie Manning, including the Benjamin Button House. Enjoy the towering Southern Live Oak trees, magnificent Crepe Myrtles, and the stunning Magnolias that some have said makes walking through the neighborhood akin to walking through a fairy-tale.
Visit Lafayette Cemetery #1, the oldest Municipal Cemetery in New Orleans. Lafayette #1 is the site of filming for many famous movies and TV shows including Interview with a Vampire and Double Jeopardy. Learn about New Orleans above ground burial practices and join us in some gossip about dead people. Lafayette Cemetery #1 is closed to the public, viewing will be done from the ornate entry gates where you will be able to see the tombs and take photos. Very occasionally, the city does open the Cemetery to guests for viewing.
